Coronation Street's Alexandra Mardell already has new opportunities coming her way after quitting the ITV soap.
The actress is best known for playing bubbly pink-wearing Emma, who arrived as an apprentice hairdresser at Audrey Roberts' salon and had a fling with Audrey's grandson David Platt when she first arrived on the cobbles four years ago.
But now, the actress claims it is 'the right time' to put the character behind her and to move on to new opportunities.

She has already stepped into a new role - this time off-screen.
The 28-year-old will in fact be returning to her roots, running acting workshops in her home city of Leeds.
Working with LB Act, she will be hosting workshops for children.
She has the job of choosing two very lucky students to win 50% off the price of their learning at the performing arts school and talent agency.
Speaking of leaving her role as Emma, writing on her Instagram stories, Alexandra said: "Playing Emma, on the most iconic street there is, has been the best experience of my life. Four years have gone so fast.
"Compared to other cast members, I still feel like a newbie, which makes my decision to leave all the more difficult. But now is the right time as a number of exciting opportunities beckon.
"Although, who knows, maybe the street hasn't seen the last of Emma Brooker."
