Coronation Street moves to new time slot in schedule shakeup

Coronation Street will change its air times next week (May 30) in a schedule shakeup that will also see Emmerdale run earlier on ITV.

As soap fans will know, in March, ITV announced it would be changing its soap opera schedule, moving Coronation Street to hour-long episodes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm, while Emmerdale was moved to a 7.30pm slot.

However, next week Coronation Street will air each weekday for 30 minutes from 7.30pm. Emmerdale will return to its 7pm slot for this week only.

From 8pm, Britain's Got Talent will air for two hours on ITV. Viewers can tune in to watch the live semi-finals every night next week.

The schedule change also means fans will miss out on 30 minutes of Corrie that week. Five shorter episodes means there'll be just 2.5 hours of Corrie in total, as opposed to three hours.

A dramatic week of episodes begins with a flashforward of Imran leaving a chilling message for Toyah in which he reveals everything.

As we move back and forth the action centres around a horrific car crash which leaves both Toyah and Imran lying unconscious in the wreckage. With emotions boiling over the stakes are at their highest as Abi, Kevin, Imran and Toyah go head to head.

And as questions start to be asked about how the crash happened Abi and Kevin find themselves under suspicion from the police. Was the crash an accident or a deliberate attempt to endanger lives?

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and the ITV Hub (apart from the week beginning May 30)
