Coronation Street mark William Roache's 90th birthday with special documentary

Coronation Street legend William Roache is set to turn 90 soon.

Bill is is the longest serving TV soap star in the world. He is best known for his role as Ken Barlow which he has played for more than six decades.

ITV will be airing a special documentary to celebrate his life as he marks the mighty milestone. Corrie's special documentary, named Happy Birthday Bill, will look back at his life and achievements over the years. as he has his birthday on April 25.

Speaking about the documentary, Bill said: "I don’t feel nearly 90 at all. The Coronation Street cast are like a second family to me and I can’t quite believe I’ve been lucky enough to play Ken Barlow for over 60 years.

“It’s also been lovely revisiting past memories and remembering all the wonderful things I have seen and done over the years. I hope the viewers enjoy watching the documentary as much as I did making it.”

Bill's nearest and dearest will reminisce on the biggest moments of his life as well as soap co-stars. During the documentary viewers will catch a glimpse of Bill’s life off set at home with his family, as well as his experiences behind the scenes on the show he has called home since it began in December 1960.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV and ITV Hub
