Coronation Street fans were taken aback to find out Stephen Reid is married during Monday's episode.
The week's first instalment of the long-running ITV soap saw Stephen tell Jenny Bradley his "lips are sealed" over the kiss they shared during the 24 hours she and Leo Thompkins were broken up. And it may be because he was also being adulterous.
A woman pulled up alongside Stephen in her car as he walked down Coronation Street. After winding the window down, she said: "Hello stranger, or should I say 'hubby'?"

She soon explained that Stephen had embezzled 200,000 euros from her company, and she wanted to be repaid. Stephen said: "That was just a loan, the business was in such a mess", but he added that he couldn't give her the money back right now.
Some fans thought Stephen may blackmail Jenny to get the money, while others suggested his wife may have a "little accident". But what some viewers may not know is that the new Mrs Reid is played by Helene Maksoud, and she's been in Corrie before.
Helene played May Radfield in 2019 – the wife of fraudster Duncan, who put Sally Metcalfe in prison. Duncan had lied and said May had died so they could receive cash, but when Duncan was hit by a van, May returned to Weatherfield under a fake name.
Helene has also starred as Dr Reuben in EastEnders from 2021 to earlier this year. Some fans recognised the actress. Taking to Twitter, Rachel said: "Ohh it's the doctor from Easties" [sic], while Siobhan said: "Didn't she play dirty Duncan's mrs?"
