Brooke Vincent has revealed she's ready to return to acting but isn't planning a return to Coronation Street just yet.
The mum-of-two bid farewell to the ITV soap after 18 years playing Sophie Webster to go on maternity leave and gave birth to son Mexx in October 2019 - briefly returning before finding out she was pregnant with her second son Monroe, who she welcomed into the world with fiancé Kean Bryan in May 2021.
In a candid new interview, Brooke opens up about life as a mum of two young boys, her and West Bromwich Albion footballer Kean's wedding plans, turning 30, embracing her stretch marks and why a return to the cobbled streets of Weatherfield isn't on the cards in the near-future.
Brooke, 30, played Sophie Webster on Coronation Street from 2004 to 2019 and had some hard-hitting storylines during her time on the soap, while Helen Flanagan - who is hoping to reprise her role once again - took on the part of her older sister Rosie from 2000 to 2012 before returning for another brief stint in 2017.
Following the birth of her second child last year, Brooke has been working alongside a personal trainer and is feeling body-confident and fit in this new chapter of her life - even open to the idea of returning to our TV screens and tackling some new, manageable acting roles
"Corrie for me will always be home, but Corrie’s ongoing – it’s forever there," the star muses. "They don’t have an end date. So for me, smaller projects will be doable because they have a start and an end date."
"It’s hard with Corrie because it’s set in Manchester and I don’t know where Kean’s going to be next season. I don’t want to be in a situation where one of you has to stay in one place, and the other somewhere else, especially while the boys are so young," Brooke adds when speaking to OK!
"I think anywhere could be a little adventure before we have to settle down and look for schools and give the kids that stability."
Earlier this year, Brooke opened up about one of the most famous storylines she was involved in during her time on the cobbles - Sophie's journey with her sexuality and subsequently coming out as a lesbian and dating pal Sian Powers.
Brooke - who was 16-years-old when her on-screen counterpart embarked on her first same-sex relationship - recalled the groundbreaking scenes when chatting with Vicky Pattison on her podcast.
"Nowadays we have lot of diverse characters, which is amazing. When they came to me about that story line, I just started college, and I thought, 'oh my God no one spoke about the fact of being lesbian or straight…'" Brooke recalled when looking back on the plot.
"A lot of people battled with this alone and had no one to reference so it was a massive honour."
