Jude's character won hearts of diehard Coronation Street viewers after he discovered that Nick was his father.
While getting to know his dad he had a rocky start with Nick's partner Leanne Battersby as she grieved the loss of her three-year-old son Oliver.
Then the youngster had a new heartbreaking storyline when his mum Natasha was gunned down and killed in a case of mistaken identity in October.
Sam is so grief-stricken he has been unable to speak since the tragedy.
Viewers of the ITV soap were left in bits when Sam went to see his mum to say a final goodbye.
In devastating scenes little Sam told her how much she meant to him and how he was worried he didn't express that he loved her enough when she was alive.
Jude, like his character, is 10 and he also stars in Sky's Brassic as Michelle Keegan's on-screen son Tyler Croft.
