Coronation Street fans 'work out' Stephen's nasty plan

Stephen Reid returned to Weatherfield earlier this year after some 15 years away from the cobbles.

The return of Audrey’s prodigal son Stephen came in the nick of time as her relationship with the rest of her family reached a crisis point and resulted in a drunken Audrey being rescued from a nasty accident in the barbers. Furious with being treated like a child by Gail and her grandchildren, Audrey put her finances in order with the help of businessman Stephen, much to the horror of the rest of the family.

Stephen was hailed a hero by his mother, and even put in charge of trust funds for the rest of the family.

Many fans however suspect he has a dark side. A number of Corrie viewers have come up with the same theory.

Taking to Twitter, Rachel said: "Stephen's broke isn't he? Back for Audrey's money". Pam said: "Stephen strapped for cash and got his eye on Audrey's".

Claw said: "It looks like Stephen is Skint Eastwood, so it's only a matter of time before he robs Audrey's money!" Ryan Glendenning said: "Stephen will definitely con Audrey out of her savings at some point", and Ben said: "Stephen's after his mum's money and then he'll be off back to Italy".
