Coronation Street fans think they have figured out Stephen's sinister motive after spotting a clue that he may never have lived abroad.
Audrey's son Stephen emigrated to Canada in 1960 with his adoptive parents and has been living in Italy after moving there in 2007.
Sarah and Bethany Platt moved in with him for a number of years but returned home in 2014 - and it seems that since then, Stephen has been up to no good.

Viewers of the Virgin Media soap now think that he could have been secretly living in the UK for years.
One key element clued fans in to the fact that Stephen looks like he hasn’t set down roots abroad for a while, as they pointed out that he has his own - rather expensive - car in England, Daily Star reports.
Taking to Reddit, one user posted: “Stephen. Why does he have a car? He lives in another country and arrived in Weatherfield in a taxi… is he really so rich that he can just buy a car for trips or has he hired it?
“In which case couldn’t the company have arranged fixing it?”
Someone else posted: “The hire care would have been replaced if there was anything wrong with it - it wouldn’t be down to the hirer to sort!” as another agreed: “You don’t take a rental car to a mechanic and pay to get it fixed.”
Others are sure Stephen is putting on an elaborate scheme to con Audrey out of her money, as one fan tweeted: “Stephen saying ‘I have a very important meeting’ every five minutes. You know he’s likely in trouble and gonna nick Audrey’s money.”
Another predicted: “So Stephen’s either drugging Audrey to get his hands on her money or she has dementia…”
“Stephen back to drain Audrey’s bank account!” a third said, as someone else tweeted: “Stephen just wants Audrey to sign here, here and here…”
“Squeaky Stephen looking to rinse his mother. Never leaves her side these days,” another social media user said.
It comes as other viewers of the Virgin Media One soap have predicted Stephen is the one behind Aaron’s abuse, after he showed Summer bruises on his ribs from being ‘attacked in the street’.
But a suspicious phone call later on proved Aaron was being threatened by someone a lot closer to home - with some suggesting Stephen could even be his father.
“I suspect Stephen beats up Aaron,” one fan guessed, as another agreed: “I wonder if it was Stephen that beat Aaron?”
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm on Virgin Media One.
