Coronation Street fans thrilled as 'missing' character finally reappears

Coronation Street fans were thrilled during Wednesday's episode when a seemingly missing character finally returned to the soap.

Bertie Osbourne is the son of Daniel Osbourne and his late wife Sinead Osbourne (nee Tinker). The youngster, now 3, originally appeared frequently after his birth in January 2019.

But his appearances became few and further between, and he hasn't been seen on our screens for some five months.

His dad, Daniel, has been involved in plenty of dramatic story-lines, leaving many viewers at home wondering who was caring for his son. But on Wednesday, Bertie's whereabouts were finally revealed.

Daniel accompanied girlfriend Daisy to the Bistro. They had lured Jenny there under the guise of a "farewell drink", but they actually wanted to tell her they believe her fiancée Leo has run off without her.

Unfortunately for Daisy, she had to break the news by herself after Daniel took an unexpected phone call. As the phone rang, Daisy told him to leave it, but he couldn't because it was "the nursery".

Poor Bertie was unwell and Daniel had to go and collect him. And many fans were thrilled to hear he was still on the street.

Taking to Twitter, Dayjur said: "It's the nursery, he's left Bertie there for months". Steph said: "BERTIE IS BACK!", while Ryan Glendenning said: "Bertie mention, why do we never see him?". @floweroflondon said: "Bertie's babysitting the quads".

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
