Coronation Street fans have been left amazed as former Sunita Alahan star Shobna Gulati's real age.
The actress and author took to Instagram on Monday to hit back after being told "no one would want me". Shobna is best known for playing Sunita on the cobbles, as well as for her role as Anita in BBC sitcom Dinnerladies.
Sunita worked in her husband Dev Alahan's shop and she appeared in Coronation Street from 2001 until 2013.

The character was killed in a horrific fire at the Rovers Return pub after having an affair with the landlady's husband. Sunita was the mum of twins Aadi and Asha Alahan, who are still in the long-running ITV soap.
Shobna shared a selfie on social media, and captioned the post: "Moooooorning bright bright sunshiney day to you. This man in TV I briefly knew [said] no one would want me because I was nearly forty and the ideas I had no one would want me anyway.
"He then went on to compare me to my contemporaries who indeed were 12 years my junior."
Shobna, 56, then added she is "nearly 60 now" and "feeling prime", leaving fans taken aback. Taking to the comments section, Cath said: "Surely you must mean nearly 40? Haven't aged since Corrie".
Jack said: "You just get better with age", while Karam said: "You look amazing! 60 never". Carol said: "I'm 50 and I wish I looked that good!"
Since leaving Coronation Street, Shobna has starred in programmes such as Doctor Who, Inside No. 9 and Midsomer Murders.
