Coronation Street fans spot Yasmeen's 'biggest error' as she flees from fire

Coronation Street fans spotted a blunder during this week's terrifying scene between Yasmeen Nazir and Geoff Metcalfe.

In the scene that fans have been eagerly waiting for, Yasmeen and evil husband Geoff had their final showdown.

And Geoff, played by Ian Bartholomew, came to a gruesome end after years of tormenting Yasmeen (Shelley King).

But before their last confrontation, Geoff attempted to murder his wife by starting a fire.

Previously, Yasmeen was found not guilty of his attempted murder, while her granddaughter Alya exposed Geoff's horrifying behaviour to new girlfriend Christine.

Geoff struck Alya with a till box, before heading to the house to confront Yasmeen.

As Yasmeen packed to leave him once and for all, he sneaked up on her and told her: "You won't need knick-knacks where you're going."

Geoff started spreading lighter fluid about the house, ranting: "It was all lined up my shiny new life, me and Christine we would of found peace at last among the olive groves."

"I've rang Alya, she's on her way," Yasmeen warned him.

"You always were a terrible liar," Geoff scolded, "Alya's sparko, knocked out or dead."

After Geoff lit the lighter fluid, Yasmeen fled upstairs, leading to their rooftop scrap and Geoff's death.

But fans questioned why Yasmeen had gone upstairs at all - pointing out that there was a window on the ground floor she could have jumped from.

"Yasmeen should have smashed a window not gone upstairs!" one complained.

Another queried: "Who the hell goes upstairs when they're standing between a fire and a nice big smashable window???"

"I would have smashed the window with my foot but Yasmeen goes upstairs instead lol," a third joked.

Alya came to her grandma's aid on the roof, to Geoff's rage.

Yasmeen told him: "To feel big you had to make me small, and I went along with it and yes I was scared of the shouting and the sulking, but mostly I felt sorry for you."

"You can't rewrite history, you begged like a dog," Geoff attacked.

"And you enjoyed it," she pointed out, " you pathetic excuse for a man."

Yasmeen added: "I am not scared of you any more, do you hear me? If the plan is to push me, you just look me in the eye and know I am not scared of you any more."

Yasmeen's chickens pecked at Geoff's body as he lay dead.

"Don't look," Alya insisted.

Coronation Street's 60th anniversary week airs this week on ITV.
