Coronation Street fans spot way to save Weatherfield residents a fortune

The cost of living is biting, and it's not just in real life. It's in the soaps too - just look at the prices of Roy's Rolls on Coronation Street these days.

It all started when Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) stopped off to grab a hot drink on the street.

Craig @cb_038 was the first to notice, tweeting: "Pc Tinker buying food & drink from the cafe when he only lives a few seconds away #Corrie."

Frank Bough @clatworthy1973 was on a similar train of thought, adding: "I always buy coffee in a cafe that's two feet from my own house. #corrie."

Then Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) walked into Roy's Rolls and said: "I'll have a tea to go. Strong please." And with that, Craig @cb_038 was back, adding: "Can't Evelyn make a cup of tea at home? She only lives a few yards away, how ridiculous #Corrie"

StuartYoung @StuartYoung002 makes a declaration we can all get behind, tweeting: "Residents of #Corrie could save a fortune if only they'd make their own tea/coffee."
