Coronation Street fans believe they have spotted a flaw as Amy Barlow's storyline takes a fresh turn. Earlier this week, viewers of the ITV soap saw Amy accused of harassment after spotting former friend Aaron Sandford's old flame Mia at the garage, and told her he raped her.
Last week, viewers saw the teenager desperate to get in touch with Mia after she saw her back with Aaron. But the fellow teen didn't believe what she was saying about Aaron. And it wasn't long before DS Swain called at 1 Coronation Street to tell Amy that a serious allegation of harassment has been made against her.
The fresh move, which appeared to have been issued on behalf of Aaron's dad, Eric, left Amy furious at the injustice of her situation and she set about putting pen to paper and writing about her ordeal in her journal on her laptop. She was seen toying with the idea of posting it for others to see.

And after some support from her dad Steve, she hit the publish button. However, after seeing it online, Eric vows to make Amy pay and he later appeared at 1 Coronation Street and announced that he was suing Amy for libel.
While they thought he could be bluffing, Amy later received a letter from Eric’s solicitor ordering her to take down her post or they’ll sue. But Steve advises her to stick to her guns and consults Dee Dee Bailey with Tracy who warns them that a libel case could end up costing them a fortune.
A meeting also took place between Steve, Amy, Eric and his solicitor who said that Amy taking down the post wasn't enough and that she needed to issue a retracement and make another post saying she made it up.
Tracy’s adamant that they’ll fight it all the way but in the meantime, Corrie viewers have shared their confusion at Eric being the one to sue Amy on his son's behalf. @1Jennyb asked: "Can someone please explain why Aaron's dad can sue and also why he can sue Steve and Tracy? Surely only Aaron can sue and he needs to sue Amy - neither are minors #Corrie
@nslambert tweeted: "Nothing to do with Eric and Steve. Amy and Aaron are over 18 so why are the parents getting involved? You can’t sue on behalf of your adult son#corrie."@DianaCameron70 added: "Not sure why Amy’s parents are being threatened with legal action. She’s over 18 so the libel case should be against her? She wrote the post and put it online #Corrie."
