Coronation Street's Kelly Neelan could find herself back in prison, if a new theory is to be correct.
Viewers believe they've cracked a murder twist, and that a newcomer will die on the ITV soap after recent scenes.
Kelly was saved by Gary Windass from her kidnappers on Wednesday, after he tracked her down and broke into the cellar she was being held in.
The two men were old clients of her villainous dad Rick Neelan, and her attempts to pay them back money he stole from them left her in grave danger.
But as Gary managed to get to her, a fight ensued and eventually Kelly managed to knock out one of the kidnappers with a crowbar.
She then dropped the weapon and ran for her life with Gary, after a terrifying ordeal for the teenager - not before Gary tried to murder him, only for Kelly to refuse.
As the kidnapper remained lifeless on the floor, viewers began to predict he might actually be dead.
Fans questioned if a new twist could see Kelly turn killer by accident, after finally getting her life back on track.
Many also predicted that she would be caught out, after leaving the weapon at the scene of the crime with her fingerprints all over it.
Taking to Twitter, fans shared their theories that this was the start of another dark storyline for the character.
One viewer commented: "I hope he’s not dead for Kelly’s sake …"
Another said: "He’s probably dead, the police will find the crowbar, go through the database and match her fingerprints."
A third viewer tweeted: "Maybe he's dead anyway. Not the first time this girl has been involved in a murder.... Its the #Corrie way."
Meanwhile one fan said: "Well done Kelly! Your fingerprints are all over that crowbar. What if another lowlife comes along and kills him."
A second agreed: "Shouldn't have left the crowbar, Kelly's fingerprints will be all over it."
