Coronation Street fans left obsessing over rare appearance from soap 'legend' as they make demand

Coronation Street fans were rushing to social media to comment as one of the show's 'legends' made a rare appearance on-screen. The latest trip to the cobbles on Friday night (July 7) saw evil Stephen Reid continuing to subtly carry out his plan to bump of future wife Elaine Metcalfe.

The serial killer had already got life insurance out in her name and as his desperation to buy Carla Connor's shares in Underworld continues, the cash-strapped businessman will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Earlier this week, viewers of the ITV soap saw Stephen tell Elaine that he'd booked her a wedding consultation with a personal shopper and claimed he was too busy so his mother Audrey was going with her.

They later excitedly returned with their wedding outfits but Elaine's good mood was quickly broken when her son Tim once again made his dislike of Stephen clear, telling them not to bother sending him an invitation. Following her future husband's advice, Elaine was seen writing Tim a letter telling him how much he has hurt her and how she can't take anymore.

However, Stephen was then seen making a photocopy of the letter before hand-delivering the original letter to Tim, spinning a story to Elaine about Tim refusing to accept the note in a further bid to alienate her from her family.

Then on Friday night, Stephen was seen cornering Dr Gaddas in Roy's Rolls, telling her that he's worried Elaine is depressed but that she refuses to seek help and might do something drastic. Stephen also plants the seed in Sally’s head leaving her to tell Tim that Stephen’s worried Elaine might be suffering from depression brought on by all the recent conflict and urges him to change his attitude for his mum's sake.

But as things continued on-screen, Corrie fans were more distracted by seeing Dr Gaddas out of the surgery and shared a demand. @itzzzo_ tweeted: "Dr Gaddas! Our NHS wouldn't cope without her! #Corrie." @cb_038 wrote: "Yaaaayyyyyy Dr Gaddas.. the only GP in Manchester!! #Corrie."

@fansvfavourites commented: "Omfg dr gaddas and her stunning new weave #Corrie." @CavoloChe said: "I wish I had Dr Gaddas living on my street...and available at a drop of a hat! #Corrie." @debenham_jason joked: "Please can I have Dr Gaddas’s number please. Can’t get into my doctors for weeks, quick call and I’ll get an appointment and be seen in an hour #Corrie."

@MrsCJPrice questioned: "#Corrie how come everyone gets to make GP appointments with the brilliant Dr Gaddas so easily? They never have to make do with a locum & they aren’t made to feel that they’re on a timer." @bredrew2 simply shared "Queen Dr. Gaddas #Corrie." While @mishybabez_ demanded: "Doctor Gaddas I adore her! Make her a regular and bring her family in please #Corrie."
