Coronation Street fans in hysterics as Leo romance twist leaves Jenny red-faced

Coronation Street fans couldn't stop laughing on Wednesday evening as Jenny Bradley suffered a rather embarrassing moment.

The landlady was considering breaking off her romance with Leo when she suddenly received a phone call informing her that he had been rushed to hospital.

Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) was quick to head straight to his bedside, but when she arrived at the hospital, she was told that he wasn't in a bad way.

"He's fine, he just needed a couple of stitches," the doctor told Jenny as she looked relieved.

As she hung around in the waiting room, Jenny bumped into an old school friend named Teddy - who offered to get her hot drink.

As they chatted away, Teddy admitted that he would love to take Jenny out as he'd always liked her.

Jenny looked stunned as she told him: "What?! You barely spoke to me for 10 years!"

"Look I know this is a bit forward, but you don't fancy meeting up for a drink some time?" Teddy asked, but he was quickly interrupted.

As Leo emerged from his hospital room, it became apparent very quickly that he and Teddy knew one another.

"Sorry, do you two know each other?" Jenny asked looking puzzled.

"Did you not introduce yourself?" Sorry, Jenny, meet my dad," Leo replied.

"How embarrassing is this?" Jenny asked, looking very red-faced.

Teddy then butted in: "I had no idea you had got yourself a sugar mummy! I had a massive crush on her back in the day. I've just asked her out!

"You have got a very good taste in women son, I'll give you that," he added to Leo.

Corrie viewers were in hysterics and took to Twitter to comment, with one person writing: "Oh dear Jenny he really is young enough to be your son #corrie."

Another posted: "Jenny, meet your future father in law! #Corrie #CoronationStreet."

A third viewer added: "Awkward Jenny #Corrie @itvcorrie," while a fourth said: "Jenny's, gettin' offers from all over the place, these days! Left, right & centre! #Corrie."
