Coronation Street fans have been left fearing for Paul Foreman after his latest money-making attempt was foiled by his friend Dee-Dee Bailey. Viewers of the ITV soap have watched the builder struggling after devastatingly learning that he has Motor Neurone Disease.
It was initially thought that Paul's problems with his hand were due to being knocked down by Carla Connor in the Underworld van after she was unknowingly drugged by Stephen Reid with LSD. However, it was revealed in heartbreaking scenes last month that Paul has the fatal, rapidly progressing disease that affects the brain and spinal cord and may just have three years to live.
Paul has chosen not to tell his family or partner Billy Mayhew and has instead confided in Dee-Dee. But as well as his health, Paul, played by Peter Ash, is worried about his mounting money woes after agreeing to help his sister Gemma Winter pay for her wedding and taking out a loan.

He was then seen turning to Damon Hay for help, begging him for the number of one of his associates who needs any work doing. Paul has since been stealing cars for the mystery Niall as part of an insurance scam. But after being caught in the flash moto of Rufus Donahughe after he was found dead in his pool, Paul was taken to the police station and is now facing an appearance in court.
Despite Dee-Dee secretly representing him, she was worried in scenes aired in Wednesday night's Corrie (May 3) when she caught him attempting to steal another car. She pleaded with him not to go through with it and threatened to phone the police as he also made her an accessory.
But Paul sped off before returning, saying he couldn't go through with it and shared his desperation with Dee-Dee. She has been trying to think of different options to help him defend his case, but he has refused to reveal his health diagnosis and has warned her that he is no grass and won't stitch the others involved up.
However, Paul later barged into the Bistro office to talk to Damon - and demanded money from him. He said he needed £25,000 or he would be telling the police all about Damon's unsavoury enterprises. After initially refusing, Damon was later seen telling Paul that he needed time to get the cash.
But it seemed like a ploy to keep Paul on side as it seemed like things could turn very sour as Damon was seen making a phone call about Paul's demands ."Small fry, big ideas and a big mouth. Well I didn't think, did I? He's chancing his arm, believe me, he's no grass, but yeah we've got to send a message. He needs shutting down," he told the person on the other end of the phone.
And now Corrie fans are fearing that Paul could be killed by Damon or Niall. @floweroflondon tweeted: "Paul won't have to cope with the worst of MND; he'll get himself killed waaaaay before that #Corrie."
Wee_Westie29 said: "Damon could end up making Paul disappear like what he did to Jacob or Damon could kill him, #Corrie." @ASuperGav posted: "Methinks Damon will ‘euthanise’ Paul #Corrie." @RyanTheSoapking added: "Damon is going to find a way to silence Paul. This won't end well #Corrie."
