Coronation Street fans are split over a controversial storyline.
Troubled teen Max Turner, played by Paddy Bever, has found himself falling under the spell of far-right activist Griff (Michael Condron) in recent episodes. Last week, on the ITV soap, we saw Griff showing Max a video to "enlighten" him on his personal, but racist, views.
Since then young Max has repeated many harmful slurs as he began to adopt Griff's disgusting way of thinking. Ultimately, Max is slowly being groomed by Griff and his gang of mates to spread their racist propaganda.

But while watching the storyline begin to unfold on Monday, fans were split. Some thought the story had "run it's course" while others thought it was a good idea and highlighted the issues that smaller minorities face on a daily basis.
Taking to Twitter, one user said: "Seriously I think writers are stepping into dangerous territory with this racism storyline #Corrie" Another added: "I really don't like this racism storyline on #corrie I think max is looking to get a slap. Bring back the comedy and 1 liner days."
Mike said: "Yes @itvcorrie this Max storyline has run it’s course. It’s a complete disgrace. They have just shown there true colours in front of people.. end it !! #Corrie."
Meanwhile, Orit said: "The racism story is so good #corrie." Andy added: "Hats off to @SairKhan for this racism storyline in @itvcorrie. It cannot be easy to stand there and take the abuse but thankfully this is dramatized. I hope this portrayal helps many viewers watching. #Corrie."
Speaking about the storyline, Coronation Street producer Iain MacLeod said: "Overall, Max's story is one about the grooming of a vulnerable teenager at a point where he's feeling most alienated and disenfranchised. The story will encompass the 'traditional' recruitment techniques of extremists groups, and we'll see Max befriended in person by older, mentor-like figures that will give him a sense of loyalty and brotherhood."
He added: “Then, later in the story, we will explore a very 21st century problem: teenagers self-radicalising through watching extreme content online. In the end, we wanted this to be a story about communication within families - what are the right and wrong ways to talk to younger family members who are gravitating towards extreme views? For the conclusion of the story, David's misjudged attempts to deal with Max will drive the narrative to a shocking and thought-provoking climax."
