Coronation Street fans baffled by Ryan phone blunder as he calls Debbie at police station

Coronation Street fans were left with raised eyebrows on Wednesday evening after realising Ryan Connor's major blunder while he was at the police station.

Viewers watched earlier this week as Ryan, played by Ryan Prescott, was exposed for his role in the Bistro robbery after his face was caught on CCTV.

He and Debbie Webster, played by Sue Devaney, hatched a plan to stage a fake robbery in an insurance scam.

Debbie decided to cancel the scam last minute, but Ryan wanted to go ahead with the plan and cut off the electricity so that he wouldn't be caught on camera.

Unfortunately for him, however, it was revealed that the CCTV was on a separate system to the electrics, so R yan was promptly arrested.

At the police station on Wednesday, Ryan rang Debbie and begged her to help him out.

As he warned that he could throw her under the bus and get leniency from the judge, Debbie pleaded with him not to mention her involvement in the plan.

But viewers were confused as they pointed out that the pair could get found out as Ryan was ringing on the station phone.

One tweeted: "Is he really calling his accomplice from the police station's telephone?"

While another commented: "Neither Ryan or Debbie considered his outgoing phone call from the police station will be getting recorded?"

A third wrote: "Ryan discussing the crime with Debbie using the phone in the police reception area, doh."

"I Thought you was only Allowed a phone call for couple of minutes, But Ryan has been on the phone for at least 10 minutes, Also I'm sure the Police can hear the recording of his call," another commented.
