Coronation Street fans have urged ITV to make a permanent change to the soap’s scheduling a shake up this week. To accommodate the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent, ITV made a change to their programming.
Usually the soap has three hour-long episodes each week, which air on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. However, this week it’s been replaced with five half-hour episodes every day from Monday to Friday.
Viewers can catch the soap from 7.30pm-8pm every night this week, with Britain’s Got Talent following afterwards. It will return to its normal time slots next week.

On Monday fans tuned in to watch Gemma Winter and Chesney Brown’s wedding on Monday evening, with Gemma wearing a gorgeous bright orange wedding dress. Yet many viewers pointed out how they preferred the new scheduling and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
Matt said: “Much better episode tonight it felt like Coronation Street being on back to 30 mins and its old time slot bring it back permanently”
Owen wrote on Twitter: “Can we have half-hour episodes all of the time? So much easier to get through.”
Paul added: “Reading people prefer the #Corrie half hour ep tonight. One hours always too long for a murder each ep. Stopped watching #Coronationstreet.”
However, a few viewers wanted the show to last longer. Twitter user Claw wrote: "I wish the episode was a whole hour. I need to see what happens next, straightaway! That ending was a proper cliffhanger!
Olivia added: "#coronationstreet that needed the other 30 minutes.... didn't deserve to be cut in half."
