Coronation Street's boss has shared a "tricky" admission as he lifted the lid on Well Mellor's potential return to the show.
The Strictly Come Dancing star is renowned for his role as the villainous Harvey Gaskell in the long-running soap. The character is currently serving time in prison as he terrorised Leanne Battersby and killed Natasha Blakeman.
His importance to the show has resurfaced after it was revealed newcomer, Damon Hay, is Harvey's brother. Corrie producer, Iain MacLeod, told the ECHO and other press he would love to see Will return to the show to confront Damon, but explained why this could be difficult.

He said: "It's tricky when fictional characters are in jail. How do you import their influence from there into your show.
"But we've overcome more difficult hurdles in the past so I'd love to think at some point we could get Harvey out on the street and stick him in a room with Damon. By the time Harvey gets out, him and Damon would be absolute blood enemies so the idea of Harvey vs Damon is tantalising."
Iain also said fans can expect Damon to wreck havoc on the Cobbles. He said: "At first it might seem like he's a more sophisticated character than Harvey. What we discover is that kind of more polished, jovial veneer is just masking something every bit as brutal and dangerous as Harvey is.
"He upends a lot of people's lives really. He brings some criminality into a family who could do with moving on from their past, but suddenly, wham, their right back in the mess again, thanks to him.
"There's something about a bad boy and he's got this magnetic attraction to a high profile female character who ends up having her head turned in a way that has far-reaching consequences."
