Coronation Street actress hopes ITV viewers spot this sweet moment at Gemma and Chesney's wedding

Coronation Street star Dolly-Rose Campbell, best known for her role as Gemma Winter on the cobbles, has teased a key moment during the upcoming wedding to air next week which she hopes ITV viewers get to catch sight of.

The 36-year-old actress, who has starred in the famous soap since 2014, has opened up on her big moment on screen, saying it has been an "honour" to play the role of a Corrie bride, having previously been praised for her sign language skills.

Dolly shared how she learnt British Sign Language off her own back in order to help the young deaf actor, Joseph, who plays one of her on-screen children, Aled.

"For me, we were going to have a deaf actor on set as part of our family and he can't learn not to be deaf so it made sense for me or Sam [Aston] or Jane [Hazlegrove] to learn to sign so that we can help him when he needs help," she told the Manchester Evening News when asked why she decided to learn personally to sign.

"The actor that we've got, his parents are also deaf so it's nice to be able to sit and talk to them when they bring him in for filming and just make them feel included," the soap star added.

And ahead of the big moment next week, Dolly hopes viewers pay attention as another cast member also uses her sign language skills with an interpreter at the wedding, who will feature in scenes where they are shown signing with another character.

Opening up about the key moment, Dolly translated the signing that takes place and gave hints of when it could air, adding: "So I don't know if it will be caught in the wedding. Cherylee Houston [who plays Izzy Armstrong] can sign as well.

"So she was signing with the interpreter in the background, and when I looked over she was telling the interpreter that she had been dyeing the [wedding] dress in her bath, and it dyed her bath. I don't know if the whole conversation will be seen, and you'd have to know [some sign language] to be able to catch it."

It comes as fans of the ITV soap caught a glimpse of Gemma's wedding dress for the first time in a new set of pictures ahead of her walking down the aisle, in what could arguably be the most extravagant wedding dress Weatherfield has laid eyes on.

The actress was snapped in first-seen pictures flaunting the impressive two-metre wide dress, with a stunning seven-metre long train finished off with fairy lights, alongside her groom whose suit has been bought by his son Joseph's grandmother, Linda.

Mum-of-four Gemma has bought a charity shop dress which has been dyed and customised by her pal, seamstress Izzy, played by Cherylee.

It is in stark contrast to the reality of the huge jaw-dropping dress, which was actually co-designed and made by drag queen and fashion designer Liquorice Black, famous for their stunning unique creations for shows such as RuPaul’s Drag Race.

The dress has 125 metres of tiny fairy lights which are activated by a remote control. There are approximately 10,000 stones all individually glued on by hand and the dress took over 200 hours to make.

The gigantic dress train is seven metres long, with Corrie bosses revealing that Dolly had reportedly wanted it even longer.
