After reading Polly Toynbee’s excellent article (For something so hollow, the royal family is astonishingly expensive, 5 April), might I ask that when you cover the coronation it will be a pull-out supplement that I can throw straight in the recycling bin?

• Joel Snape claims that he once could “hoist a Vauxhall Astra hatchback off the ground 11 times in 90 seconds” (My personal bests are behind me – but I’ve found the secret to sustained exercise, 5 April). This is something I would dearly love to see. With a kerb weight of around 1,400kg, I suspect that the front (or rear) wheels alone were what was lifted – a much easier proposition.

• I very much enjoyed your letters about the highs and lows of having an only child (4 April). Women are criticised for having only one child, criticised for being childless, and criticised for having too many children. I can’t work out what the common theme is. Perhaps someone can help me find it.
