A Cornwall-based office space is now offering business support as EU-funded business support programmes end this month.
Cornwall Innovation, which has three centres across the Duchy is operated by University of Plymouth for Cornwall Council. The company has committed to "bridge the gap" by funding a new role of business support advisor, whose aim will help companies within its centres grow.
Working with over 150 businesses in Cornwall, the business support advisor will help both new and high growth companies spot opportunities in a variety of fields, such as business funding, marketing and stakeholder engagement, as well as collating a range of expert advisory services.

Working alongside The University of Plymouth, the business support advisor will also engage with businesses to support students with employment initiatives such as a dedicated internship scheme.
Matt Harrington, head of Cornwall Innovation Centres, commented: “Many businesses in Cornwall have relied on crucial EU funding for decades, and the gap of advice and support that we’re being left with since Brexit, will, in our opinion, be detrimental to the growth of smaller businesses.
“We’re hoping to continue to stimulate innovation and business growth in Cornwall by employing a dedicated and fully-funded permanent member of our team to help in areas that were otherwise covered by this funding.”
