A man battered a corner shop staff member with a metal pole.
Police were called to TLP Convenience Store on Bedford Road, Rock Ferry on Monday, March 27 at around 9.25pm. It followed reports a man came into the shop with a metal pole and started making threats towards a staff member.
The man assaulted the staff member with the pole. He then stole money from the shop and made off. Detectives said he left the staff member injured following the incident.

Police said CCTV enquiries are ongoing and the possible weapon was recovered nearby and seized.
Detective Inspector Emma Kerrigan said: “This was a violent robbery which left the staff member injured and we are supporting the business as our investigation continues.
