Cork take on Kilkenny this weekend in the semi final of the Allianz National Hurling league Division 1A.
Revenge will be on the minds of Brian Cody's men, who will not have forgotten the heartache inflicted upon them, when Cork defeated them in the semi final of the 2021 All Ireland final.
Cork fell at the final hurdle against Limerick in the Championship last season, so will be desperate to move into this years league final and finally win some silverware. The Rebels haven't won the National Hurling since way back in 1998.
Both sides come into this game in good form, and both managers will feel as though they have a great chance of progressing to the final. Kieran Kingston will be hoping to reach his first final and win his first league title. Brian Cody on the otherhand, is hoping to keep his dream of winning an historic 11th National league title alive.

Brian Cody on the importance of the league: “Once you are out on the field everything kicks in."
“You are playing hurling. Why would you not want to win? It always matters whether you want to win or lose. If it doesn’t matter there is something wrong.”
Cody, however, would not get drawn on the ongoing GAA/GPA dispute: “I’m only here to talk about the match. You can talk about next week’s match either. They’re the only things I’m qualified to talk about.”
