Cordon in place as paramedics issue statement over incident in Nottingham city centre

A cordon was set up after the emergency services were called to an incident in Nottingham city centre. Paramedics were called to reports of a medical emergency on Monday afternoon (August 1).

East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) sent crews to the incident in Byard Land, near the Cross Keys pub, where they were assisted by colleagues at Nottinghamshire Police. In a statement, EMAS said: "We received a call at 12.36pm on August 1 to Byard Lane in Nottingham. The caller reported a medical emergency. We sent two medical first responders and two crewed ambulances. We are currently still on scene."

Witnesses reported seeing a number of police vehicles and a cordon set up. The incident is not currently thought to be suspicious.
