Drivers have been warned after almost 40 cars were removed by cops at a Welsh beauty spot loved by many Greater Mancunians. North Wales Police says drivers were risking their lives after 'irresponsible' parking on narrow mountain routes at Eryri National Park, also known as Snowdonia.
Officers recovered 29 vehicles parked dangerously near Llyn Ogwen on Good Friday and a further nine in Pen y Pass, at the bottom of Snowdon. Police also had to close part of the A5 after drivers parked on double yellow lines by the side of the busy road between Bethesda and Betws-y-Coed.
Traffic Wales shared video footage of a line of cars parked by the side of the road, with a warning that 'all vehicles parked in dangerous areas will be fined'. Police are continuing to monitor the issue throughout the bank holiday weekend, with motorists told to 'please heed the warning'.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police added: "Whilst we appreciate people are visiting Eryri National Park to enjoy the weather and stunning scenery this Bank Holiday weekend, we are urging motorists to be responsible and think about where they park and to make full use of the park and ride facilities that are available.
"The irresponsible and dangerous parking we witnessed in Pen y Pass and Llyn Ogwen [on Good Friday] not only risks lives, but also prevents emergency vehicle access." North Wales Police says any more drivers who park on the clearway, on double yellow lines or cause an obstruction will have their vehicles removed 'at their own expense'.
Drivers had already been warned about reckless parking in the area before the Easter bank holiday began. Sharing a picture of vehicles parked on both sides of a tight mountain road on Twitter, a spokesperson for Traffic Wales said: "Please park responsibly on the roads and avoid obstructing emergency vehicles.
"Blocking their way could lead to serious consequences. Let’s be considerate of our fellow road users in need and make way for emergency services. Your cooperation can save lives!”
