Cops recover £800 worth of stolen goods during patrol at Lanarkshire retail park

Three people were involved in an alleged shoplifting spree worth hundreds of pounds at an East Kilbride retail park.

Community officers in East Kilbride carried out festive patrols at Kingsgate Retail Park over the weekend.

There they reportedly recovered £800 worth of stolen goods from two separate premises.

Two men – aged 27 and 29 – and a 23-year-old woman have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with the incident.

Police said the goods have been returned to shop owners.

Posting on their Twitter page, Lanarkshire Police said: "Over the weekend, community officers from East Kilbride carried out festive patrols at Kingsgate retail park.

"Three people were reported for shoplifting, and just under £800 of stolen goods were recovered and returned to the owners."
