Cops probing death of man found 'seriously injured' in Glasgow flat

A man has died after being found seriously injured in a flat in Glasgow. Emergency services raced to Glenisla Street in the Tollcross area of the city on Sunday night but a 50-year-old male was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

A huge police presence has been seen at Glenisla Street, between Birnham Road and Maukinfauld Road, since the incident at 5.05pm last night (June 25), with the area shut down.

Police originally said that when officers attended a man was found seriously injured. Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 5.05pm on Sunday, 25 June, 2023 officers were called to a report of a man seriously injured within a flat in Glenisla Street, Tollcross, Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended and the 50-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“A post mortem will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.

“Officers remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing.”
