Police Scotland has launched an investigation into an attempted murder in Lanarkshire.
Two men were left badly injured following a disturbance in Kirkmuirhill on Sunday afternoon, February 27.
One of the casualties, a 38-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital before being transferred to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where his condition is described as stable.
The second, a 40-year-old man was also injured in the incident but did not require medical attention.
The disturbance happened around 3.20pm on Sunday on Dormiston Road, Kirkmuirhill.
Cops are now appealing to the public for information and anyone who may have seen anything is urged to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Frank Donaghy of Lanarkshire CID told Lanarkshire Live: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone with information to come forward.
“We would be keen to speak to anyone who was in the area or who may have dashcam or private CCTV footage of the incident.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 2283 of 27 February, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
