Woman's body found on Scots beach as cops launch unexplained death probe

Police are investigating after a woman’s body was found on an East Lothian beach.

The grim discovery was made at the Firth of Forth shoreline in Gullane at around 7.50am on Thursday, December 15.

A cordon has been put in place with beachgoers asked to avoid the area while police continue their enquiries. Officers remain at the scene.

The woman’s age is not currently known.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.50am on Thursday, 15 December, 2022 police received a report that a body of a woman had been found on the beach at Gullane.

“Emergency services are in attendance and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
