Cops launch investigation after two teens attacked in Lanarkshire town over weekend

Police in East Kilbride have launched investigations after two teenagers were attacked in the town in separate incidents over the weekend.

On Saturday a 13-year-old boy was assaulted by numerous individuals at Churchill Avenue at approximately 6pm.

Meanwhile, at approximately 8pm yesterday (Sunday), a 16-year-old female was attacked at Haldene Place in The Murray.

Sergeant Scott Anderson told Lanarkshire Live : "A disturbance was reported to police whereby a 16-year-old female was assaulted.

"She was conveyed to hospital and injuries are not life threatening. Police enquiries continue to identify suspects."

"At Churchill Avenue, East Kilbride, a 13-year-old was assaulted by numerous persons.

"He sustained minor injuries and police enquiries are ongoing to identify suspects."
