Cops hunt hooded figure caught on CCTV after man left seriously injured in Scots village

Police have released CCTV footage of a hooded man they want to speak to in connection with an assault in a West Dunbartonshire village. A 40-year-old man was left seriously injured after being attacked on Main Street in Renton on Saturday February 13, 2021.

Officers are urging members of the public to get in touch if they recognise the man who was caught on camera around the time of the incident.

He is described as being white, approximately 5ft 6in to 5ft 8in tall, in his late teens or early twenties with a slim or medium build. The mystery man was wearing a dark Kappa hooded top.

Detective Constable Colin Nichol at Clydebank CID said: “A 40-year-old man suffered serious injuries and as part of our investigation we are keen to identify the man in the CCTV image.

"We would urge him, or anyone who recognises him, to get in touch with police immediately.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact CID at Clydebank via 101, quoting incident number 4120 of 13 February 2021. Alternatively calls can be made to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
