Cops find drugs and weapons during search of Lanarkshire home

Police in Cumbernauld discovered a quantity of drugs and weapons during a search of a home in the Lanarkshire town last week.

Officers with a search warrant smashed down the door of the premises but the householder could not be found.

Items including cannabis, knives, mobile phones, a machete and weighing scales were all discovered within during the search.

Police are now urging the householder to come forward.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Cumbernauld Community Officers executed a search warrant at an address in Cumbernauld last week. Unfortunately, the householder was not within when the items pictured were recovered.

"Officers ask that the householder pops into the office to discuss them."
