Cops discovered drugs valued at more than £7k in separate raids in Lanarkshire town eight months apart

A Motherwell man landed in the dock after police seized drugs worth more than £7,000 in separate raids eight months apart.

Cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis were all recovered, Hamilton Sheriff Court heard on Friday.

Adam McLuckie, 21, of Dalziel Tower, admitted being concerned in the supply of the drugs.

Alice Carey, prosecuting, said police obtained a search warrant for a house in Freesia Court, Motherwell, in July 2020.

Ms Carey told the court: "They had intelligence linking McLuckie to that address and the supply of drugs.

"Bags containing white powder were found. This was analysed and found to be cocaine with a total value of £3800.

"Police officers also recovered 50 ecstasy tablets with a street value of £500."

Officers went to McLuckie's home in March last year on "an unrelated matter".

The prosecutor stated: "They noted a number of plastic bags containing green herbal material to be on show within the property.

"A search warrant was granted and 320g of cannabis, with a street value of £2800, was recovered."

Sheriff Thomas Millar adjourned the case for a criminal justice social work report and an electronic tagging assessment.

McLuckie had his bail continued and was ordered to return to court for sentence next month.
