Police have closed off a number of roads in Hamilton after reports that a man had fallen from a building.
Emergency services raced to the scene on the busy Almada Street just after 3.30pm on Friday afternoon where police quickly locked down the area.
Officers later confirmed that a man had fallen from a building. His condition is not yet known.
People are being urged to avoid the area while an investigation continues and cordon remains in place with Beckford Street, Union Street, Douglas Street, Almada Lane and Montrose Crescent all still closed this evening.
A Police Scotland source told Lanarkshire Live : “Officers are in attendance at Almada Street in Hamilton after concern for a man who fell from a building in the area around 3.35pm on Friday, 21 October.
“The road is currently closed and emergency services are in attendance.”
A statement from South Lanarkshire Council added: “There are currently several roads closed in the centre of Hamilton.
“Almada St, Beckford St, Union St, Douglas St, Almada Lane and Montrose Crescent are all closed due to a Police incident.
"Please avoid the area if possible.”
Businesses such as the Hamilton Water Palace have remained open but there is no access to the car park.
