Cops charge teen after 'item thrown' during Old Firm match at Ibrox

Cops have charged a teenager after a missile was thrown at an Old Firm match.

A 17 year-old boy was charged in connection with an 'item thrown' during the recent Celtic and Rangers game at Ibrox on January 2.

Another man was allegedly struck with an object at the game and left with a 'minor head injury.'

Police Scotland say the teen will now appear at court at a later date.

A spokesperson for the force said: “A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with an item thrown during a match at Ibrox on Monday, January 2.

"One man suffered a minor head injury after being struck by the item.

"He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date."
