Cops appeal for witnesses after man hit by bin lorry in Cumbernauld

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was hit by a bin lorry in Cumbernauld.

The 58-year-old was struck by the vehicle on the Main Road area of Condorrat, Cumbernauld at around 12.10pm on Friday, May 20.

He was rushed by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Cops are now appealing for witnesses to help establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said The Health and Safety Executive have been made aware and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw what happened or who has dashcam footage of the area at the time to call Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 1432 of Friday, 20 May, 2022.
