Police are appealing for dashcam footage following a serious road traffic collision on the A725 East Kilbride Expressway.
The incident happened around 9.40am near High Blantyre on Sunday (July 31) when a blue Peugeot 308 travelling westbound left the roadway, colliding with a number of trees before coming to a stop on the grass verge.
The 27-year-old male driver was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious injuries.
Sgt. Craig McDonald is urging motorists with dash-cam footage to contact police.
He told Lanarkshire Live : “We are trying to establish exactly how the incident occurred and what happened to cause the car to leave the road.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who was driving in the area at the time who witnessed the incident.
"I would also ask anyone with dash-cam footage that may help with our collision investigation to get in touch."
Video footage from the incident shows the man’s car launched sideways off the road and facing the opposite direction as a recovery workers deal with the smashed vehicle.
Moments later, a 999 response rushed to a separate crash involving a car and HGV lorry on the eastbound carriageway.
There were no reported injuries and the roads fully reopened at 12.30pm.
