NEW YORK CITY - Lionel Messi's Argentina is headed back to East Rutherford, New Jersey, to face Canada in the Copa America semifinal at MetLife Stadium.

After taking down Chile in that same stadium during the group stage back in June, the squad will head back to the Jets and Giants' home to go head-to-head against that of the Great White North, whom they beat 2-0 earlier in the tournament. The winner will then advance to the Copa America final.

The match comes as Canada delivered a shocking victory over Venezuela's Vinotinto in the quarterfinal that would be decided in an intense penalty kick shootout.

"I thought that we took Venezuela to the limit," Jesse Marsch, Canada's head coach, said in a press conference following the match. "Our goal is to try to push teams to their limit and see if they can manage us.

As the highly-anticipated match fastly approaches, here's what else you should know.

When can I watch the game?

La albiceleste will meet Canada on Tuesday, July 9. Kickoff time is set for 8 p.m. ET, 5 p.m. PT.

How to watch the Argentina vs. Canada game?

The Argentina-Canada game will be broadcast and streamed in English on FOX Sports 1. Conversely, TUDN and Univision will carry the game in Spanish.

Argentina and Canada will face each other in a newly renovated MetLife Stadium

As part of preparations for the big game, Verizon engineers made multi-million dollar upgrades to MetLife Stadium to accommodate the exponential increase in data customers use during sporting events.

The investment and network improvements in the stadium will be anchored by Verizon's new Distributed Antenna System (DAS), a wireless network of antennas throughout MetLife stadium allowing for better performance and greater capacity.

The new DAS system will provide 4G LTE service and 5G Ultra Wideband service using Verizon's C-band spectrum designed for high capacity and wide coverage in addition to the 5G service it already offers in the stadium. It will cover the field, bowl, concourse (including the four gate entrances), all clubs/suites, and the areas between the ticketing and the stadium wall.

Engineers also debuted a new program that divides stadium crowds into sectors like "pieces of a pie," letting them handle each sector individually depending on wireless traffic. These adjustments will allow fans to swiftly use their phone during the event.

Who will the Argentina vs. Canada Copa America winner play in the final?

The winner of this match will meet either Uruguay or Colombia in the final.

The final is set for Sunday, July 14 at 8 p.m. ET, 5 p.m. PT. The two losing sides will meet in the third-place game on Saturday, July 13 also at 8 p.m. ET, 5 p.m. PT.

This will not be the last high-profile match decided at MetLife Stadium

The 2026 FIFA World Cup final will be the final match of the highly-anticipated 23rd edition of the premier competition taking place in the U.S., Mexico and Canada. That match is scheduled to be played at MetLife on July 19, 2026.
