The list of injured players for the Los Angeles Rams just got even longer. Sean McVay said on Monday that Cooper Kupp will miss “an extended period of time” with the ankle injury he suffered in the Rams’ 41-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2.
Given the lengthy absence Kupp is facing, he’s a candidate to be placed on injured reserve, which would force him to miss at least four games. With Puka Nacua already on IR, this injury hurts the offense in a big way, especially with the 49ers up next on the schedule and the Rams sitting at 0-2.
The injury occurred in the first half of the game after Kupp hauled in a 24-yard catch. The defender landed awkwardly on Kupp’s left ankle, causing the sprain.
Kupp tried to return to the game but the Rams wisely held him out.
