A popular Dublin cafe has paid tribute to hip hop legend and regular customer Coolio.
The Gangsta's Paradise rapper tragically passed away at the age of 59 due to a suspected cardiac arrest yesterday in a friend's house in Los Angeles, according to reports. Coolio was fond of Dublin and even did a collaboration with Dublin's own rap group Versatile.
Ernesto's Cafe in Rathmines shared a video of Coolio being taught how to say "yup the flats" like a "true Irishman". The caption of the Instagram post paid tribute to the colourful artist.

Ernesto's wrote: "Really sad news this morning, had some craic with Coolio on many occasions, hanging out with my bro now." In the video, Ernesto teaches Coolio how to say Dublin phrases, "scarlet for your ma" and "yup the flats".
Ernesto is so impressed that he calls Coolio a "local". The rapper also called Ringsend "the Compton of Europe".
Coolio featured on Versatile's song Escape Wagon. He has also appeared on stage with the controversial Irish rap group.
And just months before his passing, Coolio treated punters at Conor McGregor's pub the Black Forge to a performance of his legendary 'Gangsta's Paradise'. The rapper also posed for photos with both staff and customers back in June before singing the 1995 hit alongside a Dublin band.
