Police body-worn footage of several family members accused of "an attempted honour killing" of a woman in Adelaide has provided "relevant evidence" after conversations recorded were translated, a court has heard.
Five members of the Muslim woman's family – her father, mother, sister, brother and brother-in-law — have been charged with the attempted murder and false imprisonment of the 21-year-old.
The young woman was allegedly stabbed in the abdomen several times with a large kitchen knife at the Sefton Plaza Shopping Centre car park in November.
The alleged victim suffered a perforated kidney, lacerated liver and significant internal bleeding.
Prosecutor Tali Costi told the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday there had been delays in translating the police body-worn footage, but it had provided them with evidence.
"They're conversations between defendants that was translated.
"That contains relevant evidence particularly in relation to the [alleged victim's mother and brother]."
But the brother's lawyer Frank Barbaro told the court the footage did not "take the case much further" and that his client had "no case to answer".
"The recent material has been reviewed," he told the court.
"Our position is that there is no evidence of joint enterprise."
Father allegedly stabbed victim
The court has previously heard the alleged victim had an arranged marriage to her cousin, but family members had become aware in the days leading up to the alleged attack that the young woman had started a relationship with a man of a different faith.
The family then began a "concerted effort" to locate the alleged victim.
Ms Costi previously told the court the young woman had arranged to meet her mother at a "safe, neutral location" on the morning of the alleged attack "to obtain some items that she needed for her study and work".
Her mother then allegedly communicated to other family members, "leading to all five accused of the attempted murder being at the car park at the relevant meeting time, confronting the victim", Ms Costi previously told the court.
"[The sister] was holding the victim at the time she was stabbed and forced her into the car."
The court previously heard the young woman was "pleading with them to let her go".
Members of the family allegedly drove the victim back to the family home, put her in the shower under running water and failed to seek any medical assistance.
The court has also previously heard some relatives put tracking apps on the young woman's phone and drained her bank account to just 17 cents while she was recovering in intensive care.
The matter returns to court in July.
The three men – who are in custody – did not appear in court as the magistrate said the court did not "have the technology to get them all up on the screen together".
A brother and another relative accused of breaking into and assaulting another person days before the alleged attempted murder have also been charged with aggravated serious trespass and assault.
The alleged victim's mother and sister remain on home detention bail.
