Controversial ex-kickboxer Andrew Tate could miss out on ticket for UFC 280

UFC star Sean O'Malley claims Andrew Tate is supposed to be in attendance for UFC 280 later this month, but the controversial ex-kickboxer could miss out on a ticket.

Tate, 35, is a former four-time world champion kickboxer who has received an unprecedented amount of media attention in recent months, mostly because of his divisive views on women and society. Tate, who has also previously fought in MMA, once appeared on UK reality TV show Big Brother and has been called out for boxing fights by YouTube stars such as Logan Paul and KSI.

O'Malley - who fights Petr Yan at UFC 280 on October 22 - revealed that Tate was supposed to be attending his upcoming fight, but is unsure if he'll now be able to come as the event is sold out. "I don't know, we're trying," O'Malley said on his YouTube channel. "He's gonna be there supposedly [at UFC 280].

"Well, I don't know if he's going to be able to get a ticket. So if he doesn't get a ticket, he probably won't come. They give me the normal amount but I already gave them out to my dad and his buddies."

O'Malley has previously exchanged messages with Tate, as the former kickboxer messaged him "out of nowhere" in July stating 'let's do it'. O'Malley was baffled at the context of the text but replied the same message to Tate despite not knowing what he was referring to.

"Dude, Andrew Tate he hit me up this morning. He said, 'let's do it.' That's all he said. I don't know what the f*** it meant, but I said, 'Let's do it.' "He's a f****** character. Just out of nowhere, blew up. Very, very strong opinions," O'Malley said.

Tate's accounts were removed from all major social media networks in August in an effort to de-platform him over alleged terms of service violations. Twitter were the first to get rid of Tate long before his sudden rise to internet fame, but this was followed by Instagram and TikTok in a sweeping ban. Tate released an hour-long "final message" video after his ban that was shared online by Jake Paul, but the former kickboxer has since made appearances on talk shows and podcasts.

'Cobra' Tate was recently mocked online for a video in which he dropped a sparring partner six times, with users slamming him for facing a low quality opponent in the ring. A selection of fans defended Tate by pointing out the sparring partner was his close friend Marcel, who had been challenging Tate to a sparring match for several weeks despite the big disparity in size between the pair.
