Controversial Congresswoman Lauren Boebert faces police investigation over altercation

Congresswoman Lauren Boebert embroiled in alleged altercation with ex-husband.

Controversy continues to follow Colorado Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert, as she finds herself at the center of an active police investigation surrounding an alleged altercation with her ex-husband, Jason Boebert. The incident reportedly took place at the Miner's Claim restaurant in her district on Saturday night.

In a statement given to a news source, Boebert denied the allegations, stating, 'I didn't punch Jason in the face and no one was arrested. I will be consulting with my lawyer about the false claims he made against me and evaluate all of my legal options.' Her ex-husband has also stated that he does not wish to press charges, explaining, 'Her and I were working through a difficult conversation. We are coming together to take our country back.'

This recent incident adds to the string of controversies surrounding Boebert, a prominent figure in the far-right movement. Just last month, she announced her candidacy for the 2024 Republican nomination to represent Colorado's fourth congressional district, opting to switch districts rather than facing a challenging reelection bid in her current district.

Boebert has faced personal challenges in recent times as well. After nearly two decades of marriage, she filed for divorce last year, citing irreconcilable differences. In an emotional statement, Boebert expressed optimism about her future, saying, 'This announcement is a fresh start following a pretty difficult year for me and my family. I've never been in politics before and I've never been through a divorce.'

However, even during the divorce proceedings, Boebert made headlines for her behavior. Last September, she was removed from a Denver production of Beetlejuice after allegedly vaping inside the theater, taking flash photos, and engaging in disruptive conduct. In an interview with OAN, Boebert defended her actions, describing herself as having an 'animated personality.'

Regarding the recent altercation at Miner's Claim restaurant, local authorities in Silt County have stated that they cannot disclose who made the call or whether they have obtained surveillance footage from the establishment. Boebert has cited this incident as yet another reason for her decision to relocate to a different district.

As these investigations unfold and political aspirations develop, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert continues to generate controversy and navigate the complexities of her personal and professional life.
