Contract questions over Nottingham Forest quartet as pundit makes transfer claim

These are the latest Nottingham Forest headlines...

Questions raised over futures of Nottingham Forest quartet

Regardless of whether or not the Reds achieve promotion this season, it is going to be a busy summer transfer window at the City Ground.

Whether it is pulling together a squad to be competitive in the Premier League or consolidating a squad capable of making another push for promotion, this summer's transfer business will be crucial - and that means the Reds will be thinking carefully over incomings and outgoings.

And when it comes to the latter, the Reds have a number of players who are coming towards the end of their contracts. The next few weeks could prove important when it comes to deciding their futures.

But there remains a question mark over what will happen to some of their teammates who have just a short time left to run on their contracts.

Reds reporter Sarah Clapson has evaluated what will happen to Tobias Figueiredo, Gaetan Bong, Carl Jenkinson and Lewis Grabban.

Forest U18s continue unbeaten form with 3-0 win

Nottingham Forest U18s extended their impressive run of form to five games without defeat as they beat Middlesbrough 3-0 at the Nigel Doughty Academy on Saturday afternoon.

Warren Joyce's side have enjoyed some brilliant form in recent weeks with a 2-1 win over table-topping Manchester City as well as a thrilling 4-4 draw with Leeds United. In the FA Youth Cup, meanwhile, the Reds have reached the semi-final stage where they will face Chelsea on April 4.

The Reds' latest victory came courtesy of a brace from Detlef Esapa Osong and a Jack Perkins strike.

Forest U18s' impressive run of form makes them the fourth most in-form team in the Premier League 2 North Division; only Man City, Liverpool and Wolves have better form over the past five games.

The win comes as Forest continue to build towards their FA Youth Cup clash with Chelsea in just over a weeks' time.

Forest told 'big' clubs will offer them young players

Nottingham Forest could end up looking after a number of top players from "big" Premier League clubs due to how well the Reds have looked after the likes of Keinan Davis, Philip Zinckernagel and James Garner this season.

The Reds have had a number of loan players head to the City Ground on a temporary basis in recent years, but very few have made the impact that Garner, Davis and Zinckernagel have on Trentside. The trio have scored a combined 12 goals this season - nearly 20% of the Reds' goals all year - whilst Zinckernagel (9) and Garner (6) have provided more assists this campaign than any other Forest player.

Garner, in his second year at the City Ground, has blossomed during the second half of the season and has proved to be a key player under Steve Cooper; Davis, meanwhile, has been given a breath of fresh air since moving to Forest after his Aston Villa career appeared to be stagnating.

When it comes to players currently on-loan from Premier League clubs in the Championship, there are a vast number that could end up on Forest's radar regardless of whether the Reds win promotion to the top-flight.
