Continued growth for Trowers & Hamlins' corporate and commercial practice in the South West

International law firm Trowers & Hamlins' corporate and commercial practice in the South West continues to grow following a number of appointments.

Trowers & Hamlins has recently made a number of strategic hires at its Exeter office. In the past year the team advised many food, drink and leisure businesses in the South West and continued on its growth trajectory having added six new senior and experienced lawyers in the past two years.

The growth of the corporate and commercial team also mirrors that of the Exeter office itself, which has grown from 125 staff to over 170 staff, covering a full range of legal disciplines.

Senior associate Dominic Ring, a qualified lawyer of nine years, is the latest individual to join the growing practice and joins Trowers & Hamlins from Doyle Clayton where he spent two years working in its corporate and commercial team. Mr Ring will play a crucial role in growing the Corporate and Commercial teams presence in Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall regions, where he has previously acted on a number of large and high profile transactions.

Lynne Rathbone, head of the corporate and commercial team in Exeter, commented: "This is an exciting time for the Exeter office and particularly the Corporate team as we continue to strengthen our practice. Dom joining the firm will further boost our breadth and depth of team experience as he brings with him considerable knowledge and expertise in advising a broad range of clients from multi-national companies to start ups.

"In Exeter, we are passionate about ensuring that we are best positioned to provide clients with first-rate legal services and the recent growth of the office is a testament to our commitment to providing this level of service. As we look forward to the rest of 2023, the team has numerous projects in the pipeline from large forthcoming M and A transactions to growth and investment rounds to supporting high growth start-up businesses."
