Martin Lewis has shared a clever way to save money on your hotel if you are going on holiday.
The consumer guru hosted a special holiday edition of his Money Show Live this week, offering tips for holidaymakers to cut the cost of their trips. And he revealed a "rebook" trick for those booking travel and hotels separately.
Martin explained that if your hotel is cheaper now than when you booked and you’ve got free cancellation - that’s the crucial bit - all you have to do is cancel your existing booking and make a new one. He told ITV viewers: “That means if you’ve got a hotel with free cancellation, you should regularly be checking the comparison sites for the prices. It’s as simple as that.”

And the savvy hack doesn’t just work on hotels, one viewer got in touch to share their success story on rebooking car hire abroad, reports the Daily Record. In a tweet to the show, Sylvaine said: “Back in March, followed tips on car rentals and booked for July hols in the USA with a cancellation up to 48h before.
“Checked back a couple of weeks ago and found the identical car/rental company on same website at half the original price, saved over £600 THANK YOU.” Martin responded: “I love it, that’s a proper success.”
