Constable found dead in Nacharam

A young police constable working at Maheshwaram police station in Rachakonda commissionerate was found dead at his house in Nacharam police limits on Sunday.

Police reported that the incident appeared to be a case of suicide, and preliminarily, it was being suspected that the 29-year-old man took the extreme decision due to depression.

According to police, victim Tejavath Raju’s parents reported the incident at around 8 a.m., when they found him hanging from the ceiling in his room. Mr. Raju, youngest in the large family, lived along with parents at Singam Cheruvu Tanda and commuted to Maheshwaram daily. He had joined the State police service in 2020.

It was learnt that the young man was emotionally distraught over a love affair as parents and elders, although both the families belonged to a common group, opposed the marriage.

Nacharam police handed over the mortal remains to the family after post-mortem. An inquiry is in progress.
